A Life Shaped by Healing in Christ
Formed through faith, discernment, and decades of ministry
Early in my life, I struggled with depression, a deeply negative self-image, and bulimia. I sought medical help, but it was only when I came to truly understand the love of Jesus for me that lasting change became possible.
Through a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit, the roots of destructive patterns were brought into the light, and my identity in Christ moved from something I believed, to something I lived from.
That encounter with Jesus did not remove struggle from my life. It did, however, establish a foundation of freedom and truth that has endured.
More than thirty years ago, this experience became the ground of my calling to Christian counselling.

With years of training and study in counselling, I have had the privilege of walking with women of many ages and backgrounds as they deepen their understanding of God and His work in their lives.
What continues to move me is the way Jesus meets people with clarity, gentleness, and quiet authority when there is space to listen. Our stories are different, yet Christ remains faithful. His presence is never conditional. Time and time and again I see Him meet people exactly where they are and gently restore what has been wounded.
"I love how Maxine comforts and draws people close to her. I know I have always been able to trust her with my heart. Thank you Maxine for helping me see and focus on the truth."

My formation includes working in full-time ministry in Canada and international work with churches and women’s gatherings. I am the author of Hidden Hunger, where I share my own journey toward freedom from eating disorders and the restoring work of God.
It is my pleasure to teach individuals, leaders, and groups on forgiveness, healing of the heart, and coming to know God as a loving and present Father. I serve on the leadership team of Keepersoul, offering counselling and follow-up care to women taking part in the ministry. In my local church I support the pastor and lead services as needed.
I am a wife and a mother of three. Born in England to a Welsh father and a Swedish mother, I have lived in several countries before settling in a small village in Switzerland.
Home, family, and friendship matter deeply to me, and I find rest and renewal in creativity, travel, photography, and painting.
